Quinn and I set out last weekend to explore the town of Lebanon, NH. On the way back, we stopped at a rest area and wandered upon Jimmy Dauteuil and his custom chopper: Pepe. It is a true work of art, complete with fenders crafted from trench diggers, supports made from bayonets, a gas tank boasting twin mock torpedoes and a converted pair of army canteens to keep the oil flowing! Rounding out the war machine are electrical conduits specially designed to look like M-50 cooling barrels and saddlebags originally intended to carry .50 caliber ammo.
Jimmy is a great guy and let us pummel him with questions about the ride. Perhaps the one thing that any non-rider should know about this bike: It's not a Harley. The engine was salvaged from an old Honda and the custom brand work on the side has been altered perfectly to suit Pepe's personality. If you run into him someday, be sure to ask, "Hey Jimmy, what the heck is a Honad?"
