DAY 60 – NINJA RESTAURANT
There is one quite special restaurant here, where the food experience is mixed up with a Ninja training experience, while you visit a Ninja village and see Ninja magic tricks. There are only two of them in the world – one in New York and one in Tokyo, Akasaka-mitsuke – 5 mins walk from our place. We paid them a visit for a birthday celebration, and they certainly did not disappoint. The food is really good, the service is excellent, but the most interesting is the interior, which is an actual Ninja village, with little houses, rooms, rooftop tables and hidden side streets. It's dark, moody and ‘stealthy’. Ninja waiters are sneaking around in complete silence, and you call them by thumping your hand against the bottom of the table, as a secret Ninja sign. They are also excellent cooks, as our Ninja prepared a tom-yam-like soup, boiled on hot stones right in front of us. Before the dessert there is a short Ninja magic show, and when they accidentally drop the cards on the floor – they call it Ninja mistake. Great experience, highly recommended.
