The Bell Tower at Honfleur
Honefleur is a great place to visit for the entire day, just to soak up the French experience. The harbor is full of color and sights that you want to savor and remember. With the old buildings, boats, shops, food and history, it's a must-see if you travel through Normandie.
The Sainte-Catherine church, which has a bell tower separate from the principal building, is the largest church made out of wood in France. They were afraid to build it close to the main church, for fear that lighting would strike it and burn everything down. That happened to others, so it looks like they made a wise decision.

The Honfleur Carousel
By the entrance to the little marina in Honfleur, France is this beautiful, double decker carousel. I haven't found much information online about it, other than it's open during the tourist season and possibly built around 1900. It wasn't crowded the day we stopped by and no one went to the second level, but the teenagers in our group regressed a few years as they enjoyed it. In a way the carousel symbolizes Honfleur, because though it may be old, it is colorful, happy and on the move. Honfleur bustles with activity as tourists walk, shop, eat and just enjoy the beauty of this town.
The Streets of Mont Saint Michel I miss this place already!I had a magical time exploring this place night after night. It never got boring and there were hundreds of little nooks, crannies, staircases, doors, and other mysteries to discover! I even got in the middle of a cat fight while two medieval cats duked it out… the whole place was dead quiet up until the point. That sound of fighting cats is hard to ignore… and then it all went back to quiet after that.By the way, if you ever come to this amazing place, I suggest you sleep up inside the walled city. There aren’t a lot of rooms up there, so plan ahead. I think it’s better than staying outside of the city, because you get to roam around inside of it at night…- Trey RatcliffClick here to read the rest of this post at the Stuck in Customs blog.
