If your someone who's read my comments I've left on many of my shots, you no doubt have read about me using my quarter century old manual focus 300mm lens for many of my long distance nature shots. Though it can't auto focus, it currently is my best option for capturing delicate nature shots from great distances away. But I have another quarter century old telephoto lens Nikon made for capturing fine detailed shots when obstacles prevent you from getting close enough. My 200mm micro is the equal of 300mm Nikkor image wise, and unlike the birds and mammals I frustratingly try to capture with my 300mm, the flowers that I ask my 200mm to capture rarely move enough to give me fits.
