7 Mile Sunset
The 7 Mile Bridge, part of the Over-Seas Highway, was and still is an amazing feat of engineering. The old bridge, originally built as a railroad bridge and later converted for automobile traffic, has long since been decommissioned. A newer, modern designed bridge has been in use for decades now and runs parallel to this old bridge. This original bridge was completed in 1912 and still stands today, over 103 years later, as a testament to the marvel of engineering. Day in and day out, this bridge is beaten by tremendous tides shifting between the Gulf of Mexico on one side, and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. And day in and day out, our star rises and then sets over this majestic old structure, providing for breathtaking photography, with the old bridge providing a gorgeous and constant component to an ever changing scene being painted around it. It provides the old bridge with a purpose.
