HS4000 Kestrel stands on Hull Dairycoates Shed sometime in the late 60s early 70s. This scan is from a poor quality small print of a picture taken on cheap plastic instamatic camera and this was probably one of the 1st railway shots I took. Dairycoates stalwart 6732 is behind Kestrel. HS4000 was sold to Russia in 1971 and was reputedly cut up in March 1989.

'Look More Closely' really applies to this shot. It's more than just an ordinary shot of reflections from a ripple-dappled lake. To my astonishment I discovered that something as light as a wind-blown floating feather can create a discernible wake on the surface of a pond or lake. This shot is the proof. At the time I was bewildered, trying to figure out what was moving over the lake and creating the ripples. Only after zooming in with the viewer (or on the computer screen) did I have the answer.
