Milky Way over 4 cities
This past Friday I returned to Mt. Kobau in Southern British Columbia for the first time in almost 20 years. I invited some good friends and fellow photographers to join me for a night on the mountain. All of us were blown away at how clear the milky way could be seen and how well it appeared in out photos. However, from the top of Mt. Kobau in Southern British Columbia you can see light pollution from at least four cities. While standing there and looking across to the surounding mountain for almost 4 hours I kept thinking to myself "could you imagine what it would be like to stand here 200 years ago, before all this light pollution." This panorama is a stitch of 15 images. Tech : Canon 5DM2 Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 ISO 3200 Vanguard Tripod & ball headMap of the light polution provided by : Dark Sky Finderhttp://www.jshine.net/astronomy/dark_sky
