Osprey
Pandion haliaetus
Merritt Island NWR, Florida, Feb 07
Went over to the cemetery side of the nest for a few shots, the other two had flown off to nearby trees, this youngster now alone in the nest wasn't happy about it.
Proud mother contemplating what to do for the day.
Maybe yelling at me to come up and help him fly??
Another attempt to get airborne
As I found later, the other two birds were flight ready, this bird was constantly flapping wings and getting a few inches high. It will be flying soon enough I am sure.
Another osprey flies by.
Nature takes its course with these Ospreys. Just don't ever get really close to a nest, and get away if they aim at you!!!
A proud parent sits in the tree nearby, probably happy that her nest days are about at an end for this year.
