I am visiting my daughter Maddy and son in law Tony in Charlotte, North Carolina and the main attraction is my granddaughter River Anne. She will be one year old tomorrow. She has brought so much joy to all of us. She is a very happy active baby but I happend to catch her in a pensive mood as she was eating her breakfast. All other photos were a failure as she is in constant motion.
I edited with cropping, the clone tool (pablum all over) and levels. I then used Efex Pro 2 and chose HighKey in order to fade out the photograph. Next I used the Pen and Ink filter to create a soft sketch.
I am learning a new program called Procreate (a gift from Maddy) that allows me to “paint” with various brushes and pens. So I created a water colour layer and sized it much bigger than the photograph. This way when I used it as an overlay - I could play with the opacity and the placement.
