1/11/13 - Great horned owl at the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum free raptor fly program. I've seen this program quite a few times now and I've noticed that the owls seem to be quite chatty. This one was constantly calling. These owls also are known for their hooting, but he was definitely not hooting here. Thanks for all the comments on my previous shot of the horned owl. I really appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment.

1/10/13 - Great horned owl; we went back to the Arizona-Sonoran Desert Museum for the raptor free fly program again. I liked this shot because the feathers are nicely detailed and it shows the owl in a rather unusual position. It was landing in a stiff wind and was having a bit of difficulty securing its balance. All of the raptors today had some problems flying in the strong wind. I appreciated your comments on my shot of the glass. Thanks!
