The Blue of Lake Pukaki This is the view that you get on the way to Mt. Cook. It was my first time going there… and I was so happy to see the amazing color of the water! I don’t know if it is like this all the time, but I figure it is. I’m about to go for a second trip, so I will report back soon!There are many places to stop along the road to get this shot. Rebuilt Bulleid 'Merchant Navy' pcific no. 35022 Holland America Line on shed at Nine Elms on 8/9/56. 35022 was rebuilt in June 1956 whilst allocated to Bournemouth mpd and was withdrawn at Weymouth mpd in May 1966.
Rebuilt Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' pcific no. 34090 Sir Eustace Missenden, Southern Railway speeds through Fleet on 13/4/65. 34090 was rebuilt in August 1960 whilst allocated to Nine Elms and was withdrawn at Eastleigh mpd in July 1967 at the end of SR steam.
Rebuilt Bulleid 'Battle of Britain' pcific no. 34050 Royal Observer Corps at Nine Elms mpd on 3/5/60 and note the sign of the times in the form of a Collett pannier tank behind it. 34050 was rebuilt in 1958 whilst allocated to Salisbury and was withdrawn at Eastleigh mpd in August 1965.
