So, the notes on the painting say the two are not actually related.  And that the title was invented by the original art dealer, Paul Duran-Ruel.  The photo is a composite of two exposures stitched together in CS6.  The seam, (if you can find it… I can't) is just below the flower pattern on the young woman's dress.

Oh, be sure to look up close at the largest file size available (5225 x 7314, 38MP) if your want to see brush strokes and other details.

This is my first attempt at focus stacking.  Two exposures are made in aperture priority mode… one focused on the foreground, the other on the background.  They are shot handheld and aligned in CS6.  A simple mask is created for the foreground layer allowing just the center of the background layer to show through.  The technique is crude, but it got the job done.
