Still Life At Home
February 22, 2015
Thank you for making my "Laura's Cactus" the #4 shot yesterday (at 9:08 cst).
Finally, I managed to find the time to get a still-life photo to participate in Judy's challenge today.. I'll try for one more to post next Sunday for the final day of the challenge - but I'm not sure I will - I have the 4th week of travel coming up Monday, so that's not conducive to staging still life shots.
It's been so fun to see all of your still life's and the creative shots that each of you have posted. Delightful!!!!
This is a shot of the marble topped table in our master bedroom with a silk flower arrangement, a couple of my favorite books, my reading glasses, and my grandfather's milliflora glass paperweight. The object (material) that you see in the background is my "fainting couch" that is in front of the window of the master bedroom (to give me good reading light) that I often lounge on to read books when I have time.
The first of the two books in this photo is "1,000 Places To See Before You Die" (I'm working on the list) and the second (bottom) book is "The Traveler's Gift" personally signed by the author Andy Andrews........a wonderful and inspirational book.
Thank you for your comments and critiques.
"Painting from nature is not copying the object; it is realizing one's sensations." ~ Paul Cezanne
Have a still and reflective day today my friends!
