17.06.13 - Pastel Layers

Yesterday was a very long and busy day. We had another funding meeting for our WW1 movie project "Tell Them of Us", which went a lot better than the previous debacle. Then we had a casting session for one of the major parts in the evening, which was also successful. I got home just after 9pm and the dog was desperate for a walk, so back out we went. The sunset wasn't one of those big "under a blood red sky" spectaculars, but in many ways this multi-layered pastel show was even more beautiful.

This is a 2 shot photomerge panorama, looking south (left) to west (right) about 30 minutes after sunset. The sun had set in the NW behind my right shoulder, but these colours were all around. The lower cloud layer is already in shadow, and only the very high clouds were catching the sun. The white spot top left is the Moon.

Here is an alternative, slightly wider, panorama from a similar viewpoint, but without the river in the foreground. I think I prefer the alternative, but I'm not sure :)
