Polka-Dot and The Flat Frauleins are on the Salishan Peninsula. The Bay is behind them and the ocean is before them. It is a narrow stretch of land especially at the tip of the peninsula. You can walk a few feet from this spot and be at the ocean. There are many houses built here. It is a gated community but we can always beg a pass at Salishan lodge. The golf course crosses under the highway from the lodge and continues out on the peninsula. There are many walking trails and the residents are often seen out and about. They smile and wave as we drive by. There are also birds and even sea otters in the bay. You will often see canoes with occupants leisurely paddling, or perhaps the more ambitious boaters setting out crab pots. The bay shrinks substantially at low tide.
