I happened across a grove of Aspen trees, and noticed an oddity among the group...

I was out-n-about practicing my technique for capturing Birds In Flight (BIF). This Snowy Egret was kind enough to do a slow fly-by so that I could capture a picture. I shot this image using a 70-200 lens maxed out at the long end. And I still feel that I needed more reach to really capture a fantastic BIF image. This image is cropped significantly, and the pixelation artifacts definitely can be seen.

I was out-n-about recently practicing my technique for photographing birds in flight (BIF). I captured this image of a Snowy Egret flying low across a lake.

I was out-n-about this day practicing my panning technique. I discovered that I need LOTS of practice to get a good panning shot. On this particular day I found myself on Lookout Mountain, which is located near Golden Colorado. Lookout Mountain is a favorite spot for cyclists to test their endurance by climbing the steep mountain road. It is also an ideal spot to capture motorcycles and the sort - perfect for panning shots. Most of my panning shots were excellent candidates for the 'ol trashcan. But this shot intrigued me enough to keep it. Not a perfect panning shot by any means, but I really like the color of the bike and the tattooed fellow riding it.

I spent an interesting Sunday afternoon walking the streets and alleyways of Denver's Santa Fe Art District. I came across many really beautiful, creative, though provoking, and sometime scary walls of art. I thought this was a beautifully painted wall ... with a somewhat questionable message. The artist clearly was trying to convey his/her opinion of the world.
April 14, 2013 - I participated in the Annual Denver Open Doors event today, and came away with a numer of pictures that quite honestly I wasn't expecting to capture. This one in particular. I was walking inside the Ellie Caulkin Opera House expecting to capture some wonderful images of the stage and the theater itself. Unfortunately, photographs of the interior theatre area were prohibited. So, I looked around for other interesting things to photograph. This line of wine glasses that were lined up in the concession area caught my eye.
April 6, 2013 - I spent this day trekking around the town of Leadville Colorado. There were so many colorful things to photograph in Leadville! Colorful architecture, historical buildings, interesting yard art, etc. This fire escape located in one of the alley ways caught my eye.
Christmas 2010 Roadtrip - Monday, December 20th. I was traveling along US24 through the small town of Rushville, and passed by this decrepant building. I thought it looked kinda neat. I wonder what kind of stories this building could tell??
July 28, 2012 - I uncovered this picture when I was going through my photo library to do a bit of clean up work. I stumbled on this scene quite by accident. I was hiking Mount Falcon, an Open Space Park in the Denver Colorado area, and caught glimpse of a wooden sign posted on a tree that was a bit off the beaten path. I was curious about the sign, so I decided to beat through the brush to get a closer look. I was pleasantly surprised to read the words on the sign! I couldn't help but wonder if a gentleman brought his girlfriend to this location to pop the question in such an unusual way.
