The "congested area" in South, KY; fresco filter
When I do nature, I tend to do it weird. I applied cutout and fresco filters to this somewhat ordinary tree.
I used to live in this wonderful old apartment building, built in the 1930s, and it had a huge park in front of it that legally couldn't be developed. I saw these flowers. Not normally a nature person, I liked the color and thought they'd be perfect for applying a Fauve style to them.
See comments on flowers. Looked like it would make a cool Fauve photo. I was not going around looking for near empties to keep the buzz alive.
Manipulated so many different ways I lost track. Manipulated like a a bunch of star wars nerds when faced with a pretty girl. ... Smart blur, water color sketching, cutout, dust & noise lens PSD documents, stretched; multiple levels adjustments layers, midtones brighter here, midtones darker there, lighter overall, increased saturation in the details, decreased overall... who knows what else?

The old apartment building across from mine on a snowy night. To the photo, I did everything I could do. Dry brush, paint daubs, increased saturation, brightened midtones, shifted color, you name it. I was trying to make the snowflakes as big and bright as I could. Couldn't reproduce it to save my life.
