Emily and I got up and started cooking at 10AM. We made gravy, a honey ham, corn casserole, and green bean casserole. Amanda brought us a couple of her pies, too! Emily cut up some of the greenery from our photo shoot the other day and made a sweet centerpiece with it and some candles. The family came over a little after 3PM, bringing their own vast piles of food. Within an hour and a half of everyone arriving, we all felt absolutely terrible and completely happy. We even took a family photo of all of us groaning from the food.
Once we’d cleaned everything up and everyone had gone home, Emily and I took Wright to Benbrook for Potters’ the dessert party. There, we ate even MORE food, and I somehow managed to spill most of a beer on Emily while trying to sit down. Oops. We had a brief stint at a Potter-friend’s new house for some kind of after-party after party, but we didn’t stay long. It was definitely a long day, but it was a tasty one!
