A Downtown View Under the PPG Place Sky Walk Pittsburgh, PA
PPG Place is a must see if your planning on visiting Pittsburgh! In fact, you really won't have much of a choice if your coming Downtown since this is instantly noticeable! A lot of people refer to this complex as the "glass castle", or "castle building". PPG Place is a reflective glass complex made up of 6 buildings that feature 231 spires~the tallest at 82 feet tall! The complex sits within 3 city blocks and 5 & 1/2 acres! All of the buildings have a reflective glass design consisting of 19,750 pieces of insulated glass. While the glass makes this building absolutely gorgeous and an amazing place to shoot for photographers due to the high reflection off the glass, the insulated glass also makes this complex extremely energy-efficient! Heat in the Summer is reflected away from the building & in the Winter, infrared heat is reflected & contained within the building...Such a beautiful & smart design!
