I got my nerves racked today while I waited for the big meeing with our VP. It was finally time to show her a polished cut of the Fall ad, which is a very unusual piece compared to typical university ads. The meeting went about as I'd expected it to, although she surprised us with what she didn't bring up--gender representation, shooting style, etc.--and what she got hung up on--wanting more science and not recognizing the memorability of moving into a dorm for the first time. Anyway, she liked it better than the video a firm put together last year, so I'm happy.
After work, Emily and I swung by Home Depot to grab some paint swatches. Some ideas are starting to form, and I am starting to feel better about the place after my initial reactions. Emily put our new rug down in the living room, and I immediately felt better about the design potential. This should work.
