Tracks Noir. My most viewed photo re-visited.
Since January, 2012, the original version of this pic has had only 2 comments and one Fav but a huge number of views. I shot it as I crossed the tracks because it caught my eye as I was on my way to take some "interesting" photos at the Portland, Oregon waterfront. I've removed the copyright stamp in case Getty Images finds it interesting too. I like it, but I puzzle over why it attracts so many clicks. After all, it's a dark photo of an industrial area on an overcast day in January, without a beautiful girl in sight, even one wearing clothes. It doesn't even have a train or graffiti. What attracted me at the time was the light on the tracks and the very black rocks. It's one of the first photos I ever developed in black & white; it seemed to call for it. Dean
