Entrance to Ranakpur Jain Temple
Ranakpur is widely known for its marble Jain temple dedicated to Tirthankara Adinatha, and said to be the most spectacular of the Jain temples and is one among the most famous places to visit in Pali, Rajasthan. Ranakpur is a village located in a valley on the western side of the Aravalli Range. Near Sadri town in Desuri tehsil in the Pali district of Rajasthan, Western India. It is located between Jodhpur and Udaipur.
Constructed between 1437 to 1458, copper-plate inscriptions at the temple record that it was inspired by a dream of a celestial vehicle, Dhanna Shah, with the patronage of Rana Kumbha, then ruler of Mewar.
