I got this portrait of my friend Per as we stood outside his home. I think a snow shoveler on the opposite roof caught his fancy, but let's imagine he saw a falling star instead. Reality, in art, needs romanticism.

As per tradition, the final photo of Year 5 was taken at the beach at sunset. My wife picked me up from work and we braved through some exceptionally bad traffic to PCH. We parked in the first lot we could turn into, since sunset was rapidly approaching. We trudged through the sand and found plenty of stones spread across the beach, these four nicely-spaced ones caught my eye and I got a few shots off before the sun completely disappeared. I like this one mostly because of the sheen off the wet sand.
