We really overbooked ourselves today, but we still got a lot accomplished. We hit up Dallas fairly early and went to a sample sale at the Citizenry, which I guess sells things like pillows and lamps. They had some nice things, but we didn’t snag anything. Shortly after arriving in Dallas, we remembered that our new microwave was getting delivered today, so we knew we wouldn’t get to do everything we were shooting for. After the Citizenry, we swung by April Dailey’s place to pick up a freakin’ tree stump Emily says is a table. We hung with the Daileys for a bit before speeding back home to Denton.
On the way, Emily got a call from the delivery dude that he would be arriving at 11:20am, a full 40 minutes earlier than the earliest time in our 12-4pm delivery window. When she told the dude we’d be there at noon, he was big stinky jerk about it. Cameron graciously met the dude there for us, but I told him not to worry about being nice. Luckily, the dude was gone by the time we arrived, and hey new microwave!
This afternoon we met up with David at Retro Revival in Haslet. Scotty has got some really nice stuff out there! He also sells a bunch of stuff at the Lewisville Antique Gallery, but we like visiting the warehouse sometimes. David got himself a legit mid century chair (Herman Miller and George Nelson collab?) and Emily of course found a pile of stuff she wants.
