Carrillo Trail, Rincon Mountain District.
This isn't a particularly scenic landscape, and certainly not an amazing photograph. But I think it's a pretty neat place.
Here, nearly three miles from the trailhead, in my opinion is the best place to experience the Sonoran Desert & Rincon Mountains (to the right, not in view) without hiking for hours. This is the rare spot in Saguaro National Park's Eastern District you can easily reach and turn in any direction, any angle, and see nothing but wilderness. No houses, no roads, no cars, no towers. (Seldom any people, either.)
No, it's not a stretch where you'll be gaping at the views and taking dozens of photos. But I always stop here for a moment, get a drink of water, and just look around, and listen. And admire.
