Awaiting Spring23 January 2013 -- 23/365Providence, Rhode IslandThese sailboats were featured in a far more dramatic shot last July. With temperatures today hovering in the single digits and wind chills well below zero, I ended up swinging by India Point for a "safety shot". There was no activity at all in my favorite street shot locations, so I opted to show these sailboats, still stacked and ready, but clearly a few months away from being used. The wind was whipping off the water, so I had the park entirely to myself. I suspect street photography will be out of the question until this Alberta Clipper departs.Post processing started with a classic filter in Topaz B&W FX. I adjusted color sensitivity sliders followed by adaptive exposure, contrast, boost black, boost white, and protect highlights. I added a levels adjustment and a sepia photo filter in PSE.
