19 Oct 12. Well the rain exploded with a mighty crash, that would have been Monday night as the tree fell across our driveway, then abated giving us an absolutely lovely Wed and Thur until this evening when it returned with abandon! So much so that I thought it prudent to get the trusty old boat in shape just in case we need it. While it isn't big enough to hold two of every kind, it will likely suffice for the two of us, the dog, the two lizards, and the snake. Since I think we're supposed to have two of every kind, perhaps we can entice the neighbor's dog, several from which to choose, and find an additional serpent. That should complete the sets. May be in need of a new set of oars, but any of several of the branches from the fallen tree should work. Now all I need to do is grab some stout branch, some good strong glue to keep it upright in the boat, and a good piece of canvas to serve as both a sail and a canopy. We can partially empty Jan's pantry to provide for both ballast and sustenance so we should be all set to go. Lets just hope we don't find any leaks in the vessel.
