Ice Cream Stories
I've had so many people over the years ask me about this photo. It's always been one of my favorites and I'm proud to call it part of my work from years past. While exploring websites across the vastness of the internet, I discovered the art of HDR (High-Dynamic-Range) Photography. Basically, HDR is a type of photography where multiple different images of the same thing are taken and combined to show light, color, and detail across the entire image. I quickly grew fond of the art and started researching it and learning the "tricks of the trade" and trying my hand at it when I had the chance.
One night, while exploring the streets of downtown Chattanooga, TN, I decided to take a few HDR shots and process them when I got home. I shot one of a bridge, one of a bench, and a few others before turning to the building behind me. In later years, the ice cream shop featured in the photo would become one of my favorite places to stop and rest while exploring the areas in and around downtown. When I arrived home, I bundled the photos together and processed a single HDR image. It was my first true successful attempt at HDR photography and has since risen to the top of my "Most Popular" list and has won several awards for originality and creativity.
