Edmonton Skyline over Gallagher Park
The postcard photos of Edmonton's skyline include the Muttart Conservatory's four (five including the mini-one) pyraminds inthe foreground on the south side of the river and the downtown core on the north side in the backdrop. The postcard photos are taken from a location slightly to the west of this location where the pyramids are not obstructed. This is from along Cloverdale Hill with Gallagher Park below (and largely out of the frame). Still the early spring snow on the ground and temperature hovering just above zero by 9:00 at night. There are definately some bright lights in the skyline with the new environmentally friendly lighting on ATB Place looking the sharpest. ATB changed up the colours during the Olympics showing Gold when Canadians went to the top of the podium. Today the tower is wrapped in ATB Blue. The pyramids rotated their colours from a Red to a Green to this Blue.
When I arrived, there was a crowd making a dance video with the skyline in the backdrop! Fun.
