Historic Cable Mill at Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park - Tennessee
Cades Cove is a broad, verdant valley surrounded by mountains and is one of the most popular destinations in the Great Smokies. Along the 11-mile one-way tour you will find Cable Mill. John P. Cable built his grist mill in Cades Cover in the early 1870s. Because of their ability to grind grains into flower or meal at a faster rate than famers could do it themselves, grist mills were vital to local economies.
