Night Fall on the River
nikon D90 Nikon 16-35mm f/4 13 sec @ f/16, ISO 200
This shot is a follow up to a previous, sunset, post on February 29. This is a 13 second shot using a polerizing filter along with a 3 stop ND filter, all mounted on a tripod and triggered with a cable relese. Just because the sun has set doesn't mean it's time to put the camera away. This shot was taken about 20 mins. after sunset. As you can see, it paid to stay a little longer after the sun went down. If you take a look back at the shot from the 29 you will see the sunset was off to the left side of the frame, just where the three lights are in this shot, but in this shot the brighter light is coming from the right side of the frame as the suns light is bounced through the clouds. Nature is a wonderous thing.
