Baby Bear: That is South Manitou Island to the far right, taken from the beach at Glen Haven, Michigan, very near where the Momma Bear in this tragic tale, still waits for her babies.  Although it's probably going to be kind of hard for her to see them if they do show up, since her head has pretty much eroded away.
Grave marker in the "new" cemetery on South Manitou Island, off Leland, Michigan.  Captured on color film using a Minolta point and shoot camera in 1988.  This was my first visit to South Manitou, and the place I first discovered an interest in photography.  Negative scanned and image processed in 2013.
