Tonight party was definitely a much bigger deal. The wait-list was over 6000 people, and I'm pretty sure there were enough VIPs to keep most "regular people" out altogether. Did I recognize anyone? Of course not! I even had to ask around to find out what Big Boi looked like so I could get the shot of him entering the venue.
The line outside before the party doubled over on itself before disappearing around the corner. There were rumors that the City of Austin was less than thrilled about the pile of people waiting.
I did more interviews today as part of the shoot, but the later into the party we got, the less usable the interviews became. There was a lot of drinkin' going on!
Before the party started, Andy and I had lunch with his sister, who I actually met briefly yesterday. She seems like a real sweetheart--oh Andy's family... After lunch, Andy and I drove around town getting b-roll of Austin, and we even had a little extra time to recover at the house. Last night was a real beat-down from carrying all that gear. Tonight wasn't any better either.
It was a lot of fun though, and luckily for us it ended at midnight. I was worried the thing would go on past 2am. See, we have to return the gear we rented by noon tomorrow. In Dallas. That's gonna be rough.
