Sometimes before I crawl down a steep embankment or into a hole, I ask myself if I'll be able to get back out when I'm done. That internal conversation didn't happen today before I slid down some ice-covered rocks to get up close to the shore. The waves were coming in just right to get this waterfall look, so I didn't pay any attention to my exit strategy. I didn't even notice the light rays in the distance until I started editing. When it was time to leave, though, the ice was so wet and slippery, I couldn't get back up. I fell a couple of times, slid back down the hill a couple more, and just sat there wondering how to get back to the road. Eventually, some zig-zagging from one exposed rock to another did the trick.
Hope you enjoy the photo.
