Emily and I were awoken at around 5 this morning to a bright flash of light and a loud noise. She thought lightning had struck right by the window, but as it turns out, it had actually hit a tree on the opposite side of the house. That thing was pretty much destroyed too!
The hilarious part was later this morning when we first discovered the wreckage. As we walked out to see what happened, a police car pulled up. Apparently somebody had called to tell the cops that Bennington was blocked again, only this time it was because of our fallen tree.
Thanks, Nature. I needed that.
MPS came to pick up gear at 9:30, Andy and Catherine and Eddy arrived around 9:45, and we left for Austin around 10. I spent most of my day on the road, with only a few breaks. I stopped for a charge in Waco at Collin Street Bakery, I shot an interview in Austin that took about an hour and a half, and I had dinner with Andy and Catherine afterwards at HopDoddy--DELICIOUS.
Then it was back to Dallas again! This time at the supercharger it only took 20 minutes to gain enough charge to make it home. Not bad, considering I had 9 miles of range left when we arrived at the station. There was actually another Tesla charging there this time! The guy was super friendly, and it was fun watching Andy and Catherine laugh at us for becoming friends solely because we drive the same car.
I got home before 11, and now I'm crashing.
