End of The Struggle Just got back from my weekend with Lisabet and had to process this one first! Man there’s been a lot of snow in Cumbria! As a result, I really wanted to get some proper Winter shots. I like Winter, but only if it looks like Winter. Y’know, with snow. This is near the peak of “The Struggle”, which is the branched off route of Kirkstone Pass that starts from Ambleside towards the Kirkstone Pass Inn, rather than starting from Windermere. In places, the gradient is 1 in 4, so it was definitely a struggle at times for us! Especially given the occasional snow and high winds that made the walk ridiculously colder than it actually was. It’s a lovely feeling though, once you reach the the peak of the pass at 1,500ft, the mountains towering around you, and you head inside the Kirkstone Pass Inn and settle down for a pint of ale and a bowl of chips next to a fire. =)
