The valley without snow
This is how the mountains of the Alps look like in this winter. I can not remember ever having seen so little snow in winter. This valley in the photo is at about 1’700 meters altitude. Normally I would have taken some time to reach this position. But not this year.
Equipped with snowshoes and my mountain clothes I would have taken my way to go up the mountain. But this time I walked up to this point like in spring. There was not a desert of white plains on my way and I had not to look to the mountain slopes to see if there were some danger of avalanches.
Juicy green meadows and a lot of flowers wherever I saw. And when I made a short break I could see a lot of insects flying around my head. I know, I think I’ve already mentioned it once before in the past, but it is a very very strange winter this year. And I don’t think it’s a good sign to have such winters. But time will tell us the truth. I hope that we will have a wonderful spring despite the bad winter.
