About Tom Crook Tom spent his youth in Maine. The woods, mountains, waterscapes and changing weather captured his fascination very early on. This fascination and the love for nature makes Western North Carolina a perfect fit for him. After a 36-year career in education in Florida, Tom moved to Asheville, which has provided new opportunities to develop his skills as a digital photographer. Tom enjoys capturing the beauty and the changing moods of the Appalachians. One passion is to explore the mountains and the forests, contemplate the natural beauty, and capture that magical—often fleeting—moment. Tom also finds Asheville—and the many small towns of Western North Carolina—and their structures to be of photogenic interest.
