The trip has begun! After waking up bright and early, we got composed and hit the road. We loaded everything up last night, so this morning was a breeze. Today we drove from Denton to just outside of Santa Fe. We got an AirBnB there that fits the Santa Fe vibe perfectly–at least it fits our perception of Santa Fe perfectly. It’s all adobe and full of colorful rugs and weird sculptures. And it’s in the middle of the wilderness with no wifi or cell service. It was good practice for what David says is coming in Colorado.
On our trip today we made a handful of stops to check things out on the road. We stopped at Ransom Canyon to see Robert Bruno’s Steel House–a first for David. We found a giant sculpture of some legs outside of Amarillo, and of course we stopped at Cadillac Ranch.
Now we’re here at the AirBnB for the night. I’m sure we’ll spend the bulk of our time here taking pictures. Speaking of which, I took plenty of better shots than this today, but I think this best represents what we really did today. We saw some cool stuff, but it was a grind!
