Do you ever have the feeling you're being watched?
Sun was out, and beautifuly warm today, and the garden was virtually swarming with wolf spiders basking on every available surface. This one was on a lychnic plant, which is furrier than the spider. Stacked in Zerene Stacker - 6 images
Got lucky with the timing of this one, and caught a male siskin fly by!
Another fly from the other day, a cluster fly. Not sure on specific species. Still yet to see a hoverfly this year.
Not sure if this is two males posturiing for territory or a a male and female courtship routine? The snow didn't chill them out whichever it was, as they were very active and aggressive all day
A new acquisition, this lovely little carnivorous plant from the southern hemisphere (Australia and New Zealand) is just coming out of the winter slumber. This single leaf is just 10mm acrss at the moment. This shot is a 10 shot stack using the ringflash to black out the ambient light.
Came just a little bit closer this morning. Frantic searches for food this morning by two of them! Young to feed?
A couple of days of firsts in the garden this week, first honey bees, first mason bees, first Brimstone butterfly, and first bumble bee. This is a Buff-tailed Bumblebee, I believe?
