Ferruginous Pygmy-owl
An interesting study. Here a Roseate Spoonbill and a baby crocodile share a river bank with a sea of plastic trash and garbage in the background (image depth of field rendered the baby crocodile out of focus - I did not notice the baby crocodile when I composed this shot). Costa Ricans are not real careful with their trash. During the rainy season, rivers swell and trash gets washed downstream from deforested areas and piles up on river banks. The country is beautiful, but there is a lot of loose trash, especially plastic, laying around. September 25, 2007. Nikon D200 + Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR + TC 1.7
