By the way, the origami envelope folds easier- I found - when you fold step 6 as step 3 (step 7 then becomes step 4).
I started with longer threads, but cut them afterwards, so as not to overdo it (in combination with the threads on the tags). The threads are macrame and perhaps a little bit too thick for the size of the book (especially the knots become thicker), but it still worked.
Miniature tied binding. Made a tiny book (6 cm square) for a colleague who's recovering from an operation. Chose vivid colours and one wordly wisdom on each of the tags inside the origami envelopes. Found no other way to hold the book together than by a paper slip case.
