Happy birthday, Mom! This long day ended just the right way.
First thing this morning at work, Ernestine came over to my office to dig through SOTU footage. Everyone agrees that it’s gonna be tough to edit this stuff into something usable, much less good, but at least we made some headway today. Not long after she left, the iPhone 7 announcement happened! Actually, it started as we headed home from lunch at Tortilleria La Sabrocita. The new phones look awesome! I can’t wait to snag one. The turnaround this year seems crazy fast, too. Pre-orders start this Friday and the phones start shipping on the 16th! Also did you know that David Minton NEVER went to Sabrocita in all his years living in Denton? ABOMINATION!
After work, the team met up at Harvest House for TUPAC. Minton got his final farewells before heads off to Phoenix tomorrow. From the looks of it, he’s gonna do some work as an Uber driver and wander around taking pictures of awesome landscapes now. The team is jealous.
After TUPAC (and a few beers), Emily picked me up and shuttled me to Thai Ocha for birthday dinner with the fam. Yes, I left my backpack at Harvest House, and yes, Ahna brought it to me. Thanks Ahna.
At Thai Ocha, I ordered “extra hot” pad thai. I’ve never had spicy food at Thai Ocha. “Level five?” the waitress asked.
“Yeah. Wait, do you guys do ‘caucasian hot’ here? Cuz I want actual spicy.”
“Oh, ok, so you want Chinese spicy?”
“Yes? Sure. Thanks!”
The food came out delicious. It was super good, but hopefully it won’t hurt as much coming out as it did going in.
After dinner, we did presents with my mom at Westridge Manor. It was great! That’s where I snug this shot of these jokers goofing off in the kitchen. Seems like it was a good birthday! OH right and we also went back to Harvest House for another drink before sending them on their way. They’re heading to Tennessee early tomorrow morning, and Emily and I are watching their pups! Hope that goes well.
