Palazzo Carrega Cataldi (now the Chamber of Commerce) completed in 1561, via Garibaldi, Genova. Thirteen palaces were built along what was once known as the Via Aurea (Golden Street) in just 10 years. Genoa's leading patrician families built their residences here from 1554 onward to escape the cramped conditions of the medieval section. It is one of the most impressive streets in Italy, and the palace-museums house some of the finest art collections in the country.
