With the mystique and alchemy of photography being lifted by the digital camera age, photographers now have to elevate their game (which is a great thing).  There are a number of ways to elevate photographic art, and one of the ones that I play with is this semi blurry type of special effect.  There are so many ways to do this: one of the least heralded though is shooting handheld multiple exposure HDR’s.  It is a bit trickier than doing the standard tripod method.  But it totally works.  Some guidelines to keep in mind if you are trying this technique: do it when detail doesn’t matter (like here…we can all still see what we need to see without the details) and when you want an ethereal look (like here…where we can get that Elysium feeling).
