May 24 2013 At the home of the Indy 500

On the way home from Indianapolis we did a quick visit to the Motor Speedway. We were astonished at the scale of the place. With a permanent seating capacity for an estimated 257,325 people,it is the highest-capacity stadium-type facility in the world. There were some cars going around when we came in but by the time we parked and got to the stands they had shut things donw due to moisture on the track (we call it rain). But it was fun to see the place and walk around a bit. They had a bunch of the old Indy 500 cars lined up outside the stands.

Indicentally this is probably one of only a handful of pictures of me with a hat.

A big thanks to the handful of folks who have stuck with me for a few days while I haven't been reciprocating wtih comments.
