View of Pilot Peak (that sharp pointed peak in the far distance) from the 45th Parallel, along Chief Joseph Highway - Beartooth Pass Wyoming (near the Montana border). Pilot Peak is a striking pinnacle, reaching an elevation of 11708 feet in the immediate northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park. It is part of volcanic Absaroka Range which forms the massive eastern escarpment of Yellowstone Plateau.
