Classic Great Gatsby Style Buick
There are so many epic photo opportunities at the Shanghai Municipal History Museum, which is where this was taken. For those that don’t know, it is in the basement of the Pearl Tower. You don’t have to wait in the 2-hour line. Just buy your ticket, walk downstairs, and walk straight in. It is huge and absolutely amazing. This is party of their exhibition of what kinds of cars were driven in early and middle 20th Century Shanghai.
Since this was in a museum, of course it wasn’t zooming around like it kind of seems with this image. I did my normal post-processing thing. I used Lightroom to add the dark edges to serve as a vignette. I also used Lightroom to give a nice orange-to-blue light style in the sky. Then it was off to Topaz Labs. I used Topaz Detail to give the metal and the lines a little extra pop. I used Topaz Lens Effects to add the streaking blur effect. And then most importantly, I used Topaz Clean as well as Imagenomic Noiseware with the denoise settings at my custom “Super Steroids” setting (which is simply with it at absolute maximum) to make it look polished and clear. With cars…noise is the enemy because noise = dust.
