One Famous Resident
The ruin at the top of the hill is above the town of Dürnstein on the Danube. The castle has one claim to fame - it is where the English King Richard I (the Lionharted) was kept prisoner 1192-93 on his way back from the Third Crusade. [which allowed the Sheriff of Nottingham more freedom, etc etc]. Today the region is known for its wine and apricots.
