My father and I woke up at 4:30am while on vacation on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to shoot sunrise photos. We traveled down the road a piece (as they say on the shore) and found a spot in the tiny fishing town of Oyster right along the water to set up. It was in the 40's (Fahrenheit) and windy so I was COMPLETELY FROZEN. We were right on the water looking out over the ocean. I set up my GoPro camera to record the entire event (it's on youtube) and I began shooting. While enjoying the view and shooting away, my dad found this shell and placed it in a couple different spots for me to shoot. This particular one, he was standing behind me, shining a flashlight on the shell for lighting. I positioned the sun directly behind it and the result was amazing. Definitely one of my favorite shots. The rest of the sunrise photos are in the Cape Charles 2013 gallery under Travel.
